Biography:

 

In 2009, Dr. Sanjeev Shukla obtained his PhD in Biochemistry under guidance of Dr. Surekha M Zingde at Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education (ACTREC), Navi Mumbai. He then joined the laboratory of Dr. Lopa Mishra at Georgetown University Medical Centre, Washington DC, where he studied TGF-β signaling in hepatocellular carcinoma. He later (2010) joined the laboratory of Dr. Shalini Oberdoerffer at National Institutes of Health (NIH)/ National Cancer Institute (NCI), Maryland, where he identified a novel mechanism of regulation of alternative pre-mRNA splicing (Nature 2011). Dr. Shukla joined the IISER Bhopal in May 2013, where he studies the interplay between epigenetic modifications and alternative pre-mRNA splicing in the context of Cancer Biology.
